I got hooked!

The Hookman was fun from start to finish and a bit scary also, which is always a plus. I hate HOGS as a rule, but when they are done well, and the hidden objects are within context, along with other puzzles and a great storyline, then I actually enjoy finding them. The cutscene graphics are absolutely gorgeous, not even big expensive games have such beautifully rendered character art. I can't wait for the next campfire!

So close... yet so far!

After reading most of the reviews here, I couldn't resist trying this one out!

First impression: Is this a movie? Really...The music and effects almost sounds real and the loopy background music simply melts as you play!

And as already pointed out by someone, the locations are interactive and each scene doesn't look like a garbage dump site with items all over the place!

The gameplay and story is catchy... puzzles was lovely... and really challenging. This is also the 1st time a game has scared me as I was playing it late in the night. 1st time was when the cat showed up on the screen.

After the game ends: Wait! That was it? Just when things was turning out to be so good? Really... I thought I have to uncover the story behind the story of the hookman?

The game is promising... it can even exceed Cate West, but the short gameplay was so lame... maybe there would be a sequel but the thing is... the game size was so large but the game play was ironically short.

But overall, I Loved It! It was a nice game and a sequel won't be so bad... the story should continue! Gamehouse should really continue this one!

I was scared out of my wits

I can't remember the last time a game got me scared that I screamed out loud. LOL The first scream (the loudest) came when the cat appeared - won't say any more.
I love HO games, and this one was the spookiest I have ever played. The whole time the atmosphere was full of suspence - it was a perfect game for this time of year what with Halloween just around the corner.
The objects were often hard to find, but it was OK, because there is no time limit.
I found the mini games sometimes a little too difficult and needed to check a walkthrough for several of those. Other than that, I very much enjoyed the game.
