Love me some Burger Island!

This game is fun fun fun! I love these type of games that let you upgrade and are challenging. This game is somewhat like DinerDash, but you don't have to wait on tables. The graphics are very colorful and the sounds and music are good. If you like DinerDash and other games like this than you will enjoy this one. Just try it you won't be sorry.

Great game!

Birdies, Chocolatier and now Burger Island ... is there no end to the number of great games Reflexive has recently added to its collection? Granted, this is just my opinion; I know there will be those out there who will disagree with me on my choice of "great games".

Well, to each their own, right? =D

Burger Island has similar concepts to games like Diner Dash and Burger Rush. As in Burger Rush, you need to hurry to make the customer orders, which can range from milkshakes to fries to burgers of many varieties. And as in Diner Dash, you're working against the clock to serve your customers before they walk off in a huff. Being a Diner Dash and Burger Rush fan, I'm thrilled that Burger Island combines the elements and concepts of two of my favourite games. Really, it's like playing two games in one (sort of =P).

The graphics are suitably arresting, the music is fun and I love that French waiter who helps you around the joint. Not sure if what he's mumbling really IS French, but it's entertaining nonetheless just hearing him speak.

My only regret with this game is that the demo was over before I knew it. It's sad that I can't easily purchase the full version of this game. Not having the advantage of living in the USA, I'll have to save up quite a bit before I can buy it (exchange rates ... they're killer!). But from what I've played so far, I think this game is definitely a keeper.

And if you don't want to buy it, at least give it a shot. You won't go wrong here - not if you're a Diner Dash-type game fan like myself.

At least, I don't think so. ;-)

Oh, and word of advice - don't play this on an empty stomach. I was definitely feeling hunger pangs by the time I reached the fourth, fifth level of the game.

=D

Tips & Tricks for 'Burger Island':

When you get to the final levels, don't buy the last two mystery burgers. You can finish without them and they make it far too complicated by requiring double meat or double veggie patties!

FRIES:
You can carry multiple fries in one hand right out of the deep fryer and distribute them evenly. Always have three fry baskets on the go, four is a bit risky in earlier levels.

BURGERS:
Same concept for distributing to boxes, but you can only carry a stack of the same type patties; no mixing veggie patties and beef patties.

Not really tips but a guide to gameplay ...

What this is not
Diner Dash. This isn't it. You won't get to choose your decor since there is nothing to decorate, you won't see your customers, you don't get to serve your customers, all you do is cook in sequence as provided. You don't get to choose your wardrobe since you won't see your character whose back of the head is facing you (as in the screen) and nope, no upgrading of tools since nothing to upgrade. All you will need to upgrade is the menu which you will get to purchase new menus as you complete each cycle.

A Walkthrough the game
I stand to be corrected on this but I notice that you will go thru 3 cycles, cook burgers, make fries and make shakes and then you get to buy menus for each cycle. To rise up the ranks like from trainee to expert or whatever, you will need to prepare all orders PERFECTLY and I mean ALL ORDERS. Basically you can screw up an order by

a. being so slow the customers leave

b. wrong sequence of ingrediants, just once and the order's gone and you get scolding from your boss. A bit harsh in my opinion but the scolding part is cute.

My tip to you so that you can play faster will be to cook all burgers and fries to the max, then let's say 3 orders require ketchup, so just one click of the ketchup and you can go on clicking all 3 burgers to complete the ketchup sequence for 3 orders. Same goes for fries as in salt and pepper, etc. Just make sure you do it in sequence as per the indicator and some orders may have sayyyyy cheese before ketchup, so complete the cheese part first for that one order before the ketchup sequence for all orders. I hope you will understand this because I'm really bad at describing what I meant.

Because you have to use ingredients in the right order, buying too many burger recipes can slow you down, since you have to remember the sequences. So don't buy all of the recipes as soon as they become available: only buy new recipes when you're in danger of losing levels by not earning enough money.

Also, you will find it easier if you don't buy any veggie burger recipes, since this means you can always keep 4 burgers on the grill at one time and know that you'll use them all.
