What a SUCCESS!

I was dubious about the instant appearance of thievery of the Build-a-lot premise as i'm a big supporter of that fantastic game, BUT there's been enough adaptation here to make it successfully stand on it's own, hurrah!

Good Bits: A good timeline, great and plentiful upgrades, fast gameplay, a lot of logic and tactics, value for money, brain boggling, and more importantly... interest!
This is a very good all round game, and pretty novel. You'll be hooked in minutes and still playing days later. It's not too easy or hard and very very playable and addictive.
You here have, building, matching, timers, upgrades (that you can sell), lots of levels, workforce, and rewards. Fabulous!

Bad Bits: Surprisingly few. It's a mind overload you'll either love or hate. The storyline's a bit predictable, a few lots are hard to see, but to be honest i'm just scraping to find faults here.

An important thing, I feel, to review is whether a game is good value for money. Whether you'll get a good amount of play time from it because there's an awful lot of games on here that can almost be completed in a couple of hours and are therefore shameful in their price. This however IS good value and I bought it after the demo expired because I could clearly see there was a long way to go and I was hooked enough to give in! So yes, worth it.

The gameplay gets fast quickly and in conclusion I would say that this is a fantastic update on relatively few of these games. If you liked build-a-lot or even diner dash, this is a superior mix of the two types :-) I couldn't recommend it more so demo and try and you'll probably end up buying like me!

Build In Time comes just in time to blow Build-a-lot out of the water!

I heard about Build-a-lot a few months ago, I decided I could hardly stand it. But here comes Reflexive to the rescue once again, with their latest and greatest hot title....Build In Time!! Boy after playing hour after hour of this charming game, I came to fully realize the genius behind it. It is funny that nearly all of the reviewers compare it to Build-a-lot, but Build In Time is far, far superior to that strange game.

Gameplay
Building houses for customers, and then move them in quickly...boring right? Wrong! The timing and rhythm of the game quickly enters your system, and the ability to help build and paint buildings by clicking, keeps YOU active throughout the entire game! It is fun trying to match houses in three-in-a-row patterns for bonuses and super powered building capabilities. And the customers that come in have varying degrees of patience, and if they get mad look out! I won't give too much away, but the game play is five stars, and it boy oh boy does it rise to the top of the genre! If all of this wasn't enough, the game progresses through 6 decades of American history, unlocking new houses and seeing new customers along the way that fit the era! And wow! I had forgotten about the headlines of each decade that appear in the newspaper, The Decade Times, an awesome feature that tunes you in to the times. Such fun!

Graphics
The animations and characters are very charming. I also love seeing new background environments and of course the homes you get to buy and upgrade. The game is very friendly looking, unlike so many click management games, that seem to have quasi-realistic images mixed in with out of place cartoons.

Sound
Great tunes. Reflexive once again breaks all records for musicality in their games. I love the music in Music Catch, and Build In Time's decade music is no exception!

Overall, this is a great game. I had no let downs when I got the full version. So c'mon, what are you waiting for?

Buy the extra garages right away. If you only have one garage type, then less people will want to buy them. This means you will be out the extra cash you can earn by customers requesting them.

Purchasing

1. Upgrading your homes and garages gives you more money per customer. Buying upgrades for speed can be nice, but almost NOTHING is better than selling the most expensive homes and garages that you can.
2. Buying additional garage types will actually INCREASE customer demand for garages and thus increase revenue.

Customers

1. A full customer heart is worth just as much as an almost empty heart. Almost empty counts as full!
2. For More Money: Give Appliances to customers on EVERY level. Customers with 2 hearts or less actually pay you LESS than full price for a home, so don’t forget to give those Appliances away and make people happy. Customers pay an extra 5% rush fee if they have more than 3 hearts, 15% with more than 4 hearts and 20% with more than 5 hearts.
3. Customers won't mind if you accidentally build an extra garage or add-on that they didn't ask for. The extra parts will be removed when the house is delivered.
4. For Speed: You can select a customer before their house is ready and hover over the lot with them until the last crew finishes.
5. After customers move into a lot you can click on some of the items in their yard to hear silly sounds.

3-in-a-row

1. When making three-in-a-row, house colors can be the easiest thing to match, but other things match too. Garage types, add-ons, house frames…they ALL match up!
2. Try putting houses into rows of colors AND separate columns for house types for max 3-in-a-row bonuses.
3. On timed levels, make sure and try to make 3-in-a-rows as much as possible. Getting Mega Click Assist will decrease your level time, period.
4. Strategy: Wait on making the 3-in-a-row until you know that you will have a lot of things to build. Mega Click Assist will come in really handy then.

Building

1. Using Click Assist is good, but having multiple crews working is better! Keeping as many crews working as possible is the real secret to success. Don't spend too much time using Click Assist when you could be assigning work to idle crews.
2. You can build different stages of the house at any time. The garages, houses or add-ons can be built on a lot in ANY order. For example, you don’t have to wait for your house crew to be finished to start building on another lot. Go ahead and build the garage first!
3. If you accidentally build the wrong house, garage or add-on you can rebuild the correct part on top of the old one. You can even interrupt the building of the part you don’t want before it is finished. Get them started making the thing you want right away! Paint a house the wrong color? Just repaint it!
4. Extra Revenue Tip: Build an expensive house with no one asking for it and then put up the upgraded “For Sale” sign on it. They will change their minds from buying the cheaper thing they were GOING to order and buy the more expensive home you have for sale!
