One for the POOP DECK !

Bounty really bummed me out.

It is graphically one of the best looking games I have seen on this site. The comic book style intro was very cool and it got me a little excited about the game. The music was good too, very "piratesque" and fitting. I like Mirabelle and I was looking forward to watching her destiny unfold......

30 minutes later, after the Demo version had crashed 6 times (NOT an exagerration) I decided to uninstall it and try something else.......

Why, you ask would I give up on such a beautiful looking and sounding game?

Very simple.....

It just isn't fun. You master the concept of the game in about 5 minutes, but when you get a crummy layot there is no way for you to effect greater combos, all you can do is mechanically push the blocks 1 at a time in order to finish the level. In the later levels, when the game doesn't crash, which is rare, failing to make a combo (which has NOTHING to do with your skill, just the randomization of the pieces when they are generated) will cause pieces to be locked, which basically means you can't finish the level in the time given and you have to keep starting over again and again till you get a good starting set up.

STAY AWAY from this truly horrible game !

Bounty walks the plank!

I like comic style games. So when this one came out, I just had to try it. My excitement of this being a pirate version of Puzzle Hero or Puzzle Quest was quickly capsized on the first puzzle.

Bounty is more like a (cartoon)e-book than a game. NONE of the puzzles played any part of the game and thus, literally, could be left out. Independently each (the puzzles and the story) were superbly done. Great comic style and artwork, as well as a good original puzzle design. And the puzzles were not of the usual match 3 but more of a "slide-pieces-to-the-left-match3-on-the-bottom" type. Very original and it was very addicting playing the puzzles (when I play now, I just skip the cut scenes). However, since the puzzles could be played w/o the story (unlike PH or PQ), it wasn't very challenging as a whole. Sliding hedgehogs, dogs, cats and other animals just don't fit when your trying to keep the bad pirate from killing you. And if that wasn't annoying, at least the authors allowed you to turn off your main toons voice. Which btw, you're only allowed to be a female.

I think the biggest downfall of Bounty, aside from the fact the puzzles don't work with the plot, is that they are thrown in at the oddest moments. You find yourself reading the story, and then out of the blue, you're doing a puzzle, but not sure what effect it has on the scene and why you are doing it at that particular time in the first place.

Although, as mentioned above, I liked the comic and I liked the puzzle idea, together as is, they are not in sync with each other. My recommendation would be to play the demo, because it is interesting, but for a real integrated puzzle game of this genre I would suggest Puzzle Hero, or Puzzle Quest (PH if you're new, and PQ for the full blown RPG experience).

This game is great

This game is 100% original. Normally I don't like puzzle games but this one's great, not like those boring stuff. It has a great storyline and the sounds are really cool. Graphics are quite ok. I'd buy it, later when I have the money^^.

Extremely poor

Though a unique, original puzzle, it's gameplay is extremely boring and repetitive. Audios are annoying as well, and the graphics are just average.

I only like the comics, since the gameplay is just time-consuming and is junk.

I won't recommend this to anyone.
