Fun and easy

What a great game. You have to go to different places, looking for items, most of which are broken into several pieces. And you don't just collect items, you also have to use them, which is a plus and keeps the game from getting boring and repetitive (too quickly).
The graphics are good enough, although could have been a little more clear in some places. Most objects (object pieces) are easy to find, and the sound it nice as well. You can get more hints by playing little word and ghost hunting games.
All in all, a game worth 4 stars.

Nice!

I love this game. It is not too long, and not too boring. I played it for two days. Yeah, it seems quite quick but I just cannot stop and I keep playing it. And the most important part is it didn’t promise a sequel. You know, for some games that promise a continuation, it may take ages and some of them left un-continued. The best example is Mortimer Beckett series.

The good part is done and here is the bad part: I don’t actually understand what was going on when I play the game. And I don’t really know what is happening when there is some ‘action’ on ‘film slides’. It is just hanging. And I just cannot understand what is happening. And sometimes, the items are quite impossible to be found.

But, the hints are rechargeable by playing the same, old mini-game, which is still acceptable.

Anyway, congratulation for making such a great game!

gaming in the dark

I really like the fact that the objects to be found have to do with progressing in the game and solving clues, but there is no clear narrative or objective, and the cutscenes don't seem to have much to do with what you're doing in the game. The characters may or may not explain what you need to find or have found, and the objects you need to progress pop up too frequently with no explanation of what they are needed for or why you are finding them before you haven't even solved a puzzle with the objects you already found. In one sequence I didn't even know that I was supposed to be shooting someone out of a tree, and once I did, I still didn't know why. The hint system is also a bit harder than it has to be, three hints from each character and if you run out, you have to play mini games to gain more hints which aren't really a whole lot of fun since the mini-games, like the rest of the game, are a bit too precise pixel-wise to really beat easily, as you must carefully click on the right spot on the object to get it, which leads to another one of my biggest pet peeves with HOGs. If I have to click on an item twenty times before I hit the sweet spot, I lose interest. There may be a good story here and I will keep playing to find out, but so far I have not found it.
