Loved it.

I recently finished Aveyond: Lord of Twilight. It was amazing and by far my favorite Aveyond yet. It is also the first of a four part series. The next part is Aveyond: Gates of Night. I plan on buying when it comes out. (This may explain why it wasn't as long as the previous aveyond games, which were singles)

Not only were the graphics better, but the storyline was more interesting than any other Aveyond and it was challenging. I loved the combination of characters available in your party. It kept things interesting.

I can't wait for the next chapter and recommend this game to anyone who wants a fun and puzzling adventure. :)

Not as good as the others

This 3rd edition release of Aveyond finally made to the public. Though it may disappoint fans, this game have many new features and items.

Firstly there are some changes in how aveyond will be released. Instead of releasing an entire game at a time like previous games, they will now be releasing in parts. This will be Part 1 of a 2 part.. or more series depending on feedback. The game will be reduced by half, and so does the cost for every part. It also allows more aveyond titles to be released in a year.

Lets talk about cons first. Firstly, this part 1 series of aveyond will be seriously short. It will take less than a quarter time to finish the game than previous games. It was suppose to be half the time right? I'm not sure the reason why but I have my ideas. But the next part of the game will definitely be much longer than this part.

For aveyond fans, this 3rd series will not only be short, but dry as well, the intro, storyline not very exciting nor interesting and the humour have been substantially reduced. That's my definition of dryness.

Ok, those 2 are the major cons of the game. Now to pros :)
Gameplay, still the same as previous titles but added a new twist called "minigames". Currently there are only 2 minigames in this part but more are on the way. The new tutorial system is much better, a very straight forward way to learn the basics of the game.

Graphics and sound, can see quite a little bit of improvement, especially at certain places in aveyond. No problems there.

Ofcourse you'll see a new arsenal of weapons, armour, accessories and some returning items. A new item "level egg". A new teleportation method using eggs. A new feature, instead of owning a farm like in aveyond 2, you now get to hatch eggs and collect the eggs for certain uses.

In my opinion, this game is the worst of all 3 versions of aveyond. Though improvements are plentiful, so does negative feedbacks.

Aveyond - Lord Of Twilight

I love this series, because I have played the other games, so this one is familiar. There are some changes. When you click on a dead corpse, it now dissapears, so you can tell which ones you already clicked on when you pass back thru a area. Often when you go into a town or other area and come back out, the monsters dont regenerate, which is good if you didn't want to fight your way back out, but bad if you wanted to rack up experience points. Only if you go into a cave can you be sure the monsters will regenerate.

The game was too short, I started it late on Saturday, and even with time wasted just to level up, I finished in two full days plus a few hours. The last battle, I must have been really lucky because I finished off the witch in the first round of battle. I am used to on the previous games for the battle to go on for a while. I did use a spell to shield my group right off, so maybe it was just luck I won so easily. I cant wait for the other chapters. I hope Reflexive gets them.
