Excellent

I found the gameplay was very good, the fights were more realistic than in some games as, for example, an archer can't fire at a target if it is obscured by an obstacle. I found it very easy to immerse myself into the story, and the countless combinations of interactions with the NPCs mean you can replay the game again and again with varied results. There are a good selection of weapons, armor and spells, and your adventurers can even collect components to have things made for them by the locals. Each area of the adventure has a different feel to it, and it is possible to venture back and forward between them in the game world.

A great addition to the family for all RPG fans.

It's a must buy for old-school RPG players

Ancient graphic, true. BUT, the story line and onversations are so fascinating that they can lure you into the mysterious and dangerous underground kingdom. If you love Might and Magic, Ultima, Fallout2, and Planescape-Torment, Avernum is your game.

My take on the game right after completing it

well the graphics arent really anything to talk about. You could probably play this game in a computer you got 6 years ago. The Storyline was great though. Also there was minimal sound which i sorta liked seeing how they kinda get annoying after awhile most of the time. If you like games with good story progression and what not then this game is good for you. If you dont then i think you are looking at the wrong section. Anyway the whole game was great. They had the whole action and consequence system. Alot of things to do. Just a tip accept all the quests before leaving the town and doing anything. Also not a big fan of the ending thats why overall i didnt love it. Still really liked the game though. They could have given different endings for the 2 different sides but they didnt. It was relatively the same. And in the end you are pretty much screwed. You also dont get to complete the side quests after you are done and what not. So yeah this was definitely worth my money. It will keep you playing for hours.
