Just brilliant
Every once in a while, a game comes along that really stands out in every aspect. Being it graphics, sounds, music, gameplay, variety, and sheer content.
Ancient Quest of Saqqarah has all that.
While this may looks like just a match-3 game, there's nothing more wrong than that. While the first temple (of seven) has the "pure" match-3 mechanic, the six other temples offer great variety in gameplay, from solving puzzles, chaining, collapsing, swapping, sliding and rotating tokens to clear the level.
Also on your side, there this blue (!) monkey that helps you out with magics, tips, and even narrating some parts of the story. By the way, all the voice actors used in the game sound GREAT!
Often along, there's some occasional bonus rounds, which requires you to find different hieroglyphs, unlocking some new powerups along the way.
Saqqarah is one of those games that everyone should try (and buy!). It has AMAZING graphics, great music, sounds, voice over, and replay value. And on top of that, it doesn't not get tiring, since you can always play the other temples with all new different puzzle mechanics and such. With a huge amount of levels (more than 500), two game modes (normal and relaxed - no time limit), and 7 different gameplay mechanics (not counting the bonus rounds), this game is really worth your time and money.
Now excuse me, as I need to go back and play some more! |

Saqqarah - The best match puzzle game we ever had!
Undoubtedly, Ancient Quest of Saqqarah is the best match games we have. With the amazing sound effects and stunning graphics, this game already attracts me in the first level and I can't stop playing this impressive game.
Unlike all those Match-3 games, there are multiple types of puzzles in Saqqarah, which are completely different from what we have been playing. Instead of matching gems and fill up the gauge, we match to illuminate boxes - This is definitely original, and very refreshing.
Your magic helper is also well-designed. His magic has different functions and can be upgraded as you process through the temples. This add more fun as you play, and the graphics and sound are both very impressive when the spell is casted.
Codeminion has made an almost perfect game here, though there is one downside - The game is not very easy to start with, since it is very different from the others. Highly recommened to any puzzle fans and non-puzzle players, you won't regret for trying this game! |

Woa...
I almost missed this game. Luckily they had a giant ad on the side of the screen that caught my attention.
At first I didn't get the game play but it's like that game that 2 or more people play, trying to make a square and whoever completes the square gets that block. Think of graph paper and one person draws a side of one block and then the next person goes and draws a side, and if you complete a square you get that square and you can go again...but I'm getting side tracked because this is a one player game.
This game is awesome. So addictive. I bought it as soon as the trial ran out. Great graphics, great sound, and as the monkey says, "...tricky," but not too hard. It has timed and relaxed mode. Also there are different ways to play as you progress to other levels, cutting down on the repetition factor.
Bottom line: try it...then buy it! I bet you won't be able to help yourself... |

Great !
A little bored by jewell matching games, a watch the video demo and then decided to try it. I'd been very pleased by the gameplay, the game atmosphere, the musics. It becomes addictive very rapidly. A very very good game. And, once again, thank you for thinking about mac users ! |
