Surprisingly Addictive
I have to admit that when I looked at the screen shots and read the description this game didn't really seem appealing to me. But after reading some positive reviews I decided to give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised and glad that I did.
There are several games combined into one here and the overall result is really fun. You plant crops, water them, harvest them, sell them at market, purchase equipment and upgrades, etc, repeat.
The biggest win for this game is the ability to queue up a seemingly infinite number of click commands. Since you have to manually click on every grid cell that you want to perform some operation with, there would normally be a lot of click, click, wait, click, click, wait. They speed up the pace and the ease of play by letting you queue up anything you want. Click on the watering can, then click on 4 crop sites, then click on the well to fill the watering can, and so on... all without having to wait for the character to finish with any of those tasks. She will carry on and proceed to execute everything you assigned. I was unable to reach any limit of queued tasks while playing through the demo for an hour. This one feature really completes this game and is a welcome thing to see when you compare the popular seek, find, and click games that make you wait for some superfluous animation to finish before you can click on the next item you spotted.
The graphics are nothing to write home about, but they are still well done and do a fine job of presenting the environment in a pleasing manor.
Sound is well executed with distinctive audible cues that play when you execute each unique operation providing good feedback to the player. Music is subtle and not annoying.
I was sad to see the one hour time limit expire and look forward to playing this game some more when I can scrounge up an extra 20 bucks. |

Harvest Moon-y
Ever played Harvest Moon? This game is very much like Harvest Moon only different in growth of plants and there is very little things to do except run around and harvest your crops. It is very entertaining though and I was kind of addicted to it, wanting to own every item on the shop and wanting to get every award.
It is was fun for a while but it just gets so monotonic as you advance farther in the game. You may have gotten all the items but the gameplay is still the same. But, again I like this game ='3 |

Funfun
I can't say much more than what's already been mentioned. But to comment on what I which I knew before I started: Make a fake name to go through the tutorial with. I didn't like how you finish the tutorial and you continue on with the garden that you started. I made this goofy haphazard garden that didn't work efficiently, then I got the sprinklers and boom, garden didn't work well at all (the only way to put the sprinkler where i needed it was to dig up a plant and wait for grass to grow in it's place) But all in all this game is a great combination of clicking diner dash and tycoon type games. |

A new game in a plethora of replicas
This is, without a doubt, one of those few games that are just a rare find. Games that fall into this category are Master of Defense, Tradewinds series and a few others that are a refreshing new take on this genre of lunch time games.
Alice Greenfingers puts you in a new mass clicker, but in a different position: Time is much less an issue as perceptiveness is. You need to learn how to spread your tools, activities and fields in a manner which suits you best. Strategy is involved, even though it is not apparent.
Now for the technical stuff:
The game looks splendid, disregarding the lack of nose Alice's sprite has, or hasn't rather. So that's a 5 there.
The sounds are gentle and easy on the ears, getting you into the mood, and help play, and since they are also subtle, you can do without them, making them much better in more ways. Another 5.
The gameplay, I've discussed, and shall continue farther. The gameplay is fresh and refreshing, using flowers and vegetables and fruits as ways to make money; consistent ways. The plants can only go away if you dig them out or let them whither, thus your burden is lightened some. It's not too click intensive, nor is light. Just about right. Another well-earned 5.
Overall, the game presents a refreshment on the whole genre of both lunch break games and mass click games. Without a doubt this game is a keeper, whether you're looking for some light play or pretty gardens. An overall of 5!
A note for those of you trying this out: Don't let the concept make you think it is boring. Even at the tutorial, those who don't develop the perceptive and quick sight needed for such games will be lost in the frantic pace that develops. I myself am always on the click with just 3 tiny patches. |

No goals set which translates to endless game play until I suppose you bankrupt yourself.
This is really the hardest game I have played thus far not because it is complicated but because there are just so many things one pair of hands can do. Whilst I agree with the reviews that the best part is the ability to line up infinite things for the farmer to do (instead of finishing one task only then can click on another), however the lack of goals kinda spoilt this game. Without a specific purpose, the entire game became a very tiring affair; on and on she goes like a robot who knows no pain, doesn't get tired and in fact the one day ends after a very long time. The only goal I can see is not to bankrupt yourself by making a profit. You sell your produce in the market, setting a price. Unfortunately there is not a panel which indicates the recommended price so that you can take a risk and set a higher or lower price. If you know what I mean. The tutorial is short, the graphics remind me of the olden days Atari games. I remember playing a similar game in my Playstation, can't remember the title but that had a purpose and includes a lot more activity rather than planting, pulling, selling.
I won't lie to you; this game involves a lot of clicking of your mouse buttons, so much so I recommend you buy a spare just in case. It is not a bad game but to me crudely designed in the sense
1. no goals making this game endless and at time which means boring because you want it to end having achieved a goal within a specific time.
2. the so called trophies to be won is akin to dubious honour like 25th box of daisy sold. I think something more honourable would be great like best Daisy or whatever.
3. graphics is crude, but playable. The sound is good though.
4. Not sure yet but can I hire workers? The rate this girl is going she should be working to her death by now!
5. There are animals to be added later. But where is the animal barn?
A good game but can be improved. Try Fairy Godmother Tycoon instead for similar game. |
