Definitely download the demo first

There are a great many shooter games out there to play and Air Assault falls into the category of those you should skip.

The lack of compelling gameplay in this title is truly astounding. Its a simple shooter with 2 weapons. Guns and Missiles are your tools of destruction and there isnt much to discover in them other than minor upgrades.

After playing about 3 or 4 levels you soon realize that the game is failing to offer you anything new to do. Not even so much as a basic boss fight will present itself along the way. I played through long enough to advance to the winter stage (where the scrolling background turns from green to white) and decided to call it quits.

Honestly this game feels more like a college project being submitting to a game studio as part of an application portfolio. Its technically complete, and demonstrates some basic shooter game mechanics. But as a commercial product, it really feels like someone just didnt try hard enough to create a competitive title.

If you like shooters, its something you might download the demo for just to see how a game should not be made.

Perfect example of a big letdown.

Let me start off by saying I was really glad to see a retro-style, vertical scrolling shooter as the game of the day. I'm not much on hidden object or "dash" style games, so I don't get a lot to choose from.
The graphics are great! Fantastic retro styling! But that's where the good stuff ends. The game is very repetitive after only a couple minutes (if that long).
And one of my biggest gripes about the game is that your helicopter can't fly over barrels sitting on the ground without running into them, or even a submarine for cryin' out loud. Note to the developer..... helicopter FLY.

Good Game

First off its a free movement game unlike most plane/helicopter games where you can only move left and right,This game allows you to move left right up down and even sideways. Second off you have Infinite missiles and most other games of this type give you like 3-4 per level. And last off its addicting i had a hard time getting off and skipped going to my friends house just so i could play it
