Intriguing Storyline

I wasn't going to try this game out because the reviews reported that it was only so-so, and I too am getting a little bored of normal Hidden Object games.
However, due to extreme boredom I decided to try it out anyway.

The storyline is intriguing, if not very sad. I think what kept me going level after level was the urge to know the end of the story. This is one of the few games where I actually bothered to read and keep up with the storyline.

I agree that sometimes it was difficult to know what object we were looking for for the minigames, but after a while those broken items seem to stick out like a sore thumb... because they're broken pieces and everything else on screen is whole. For example, they require you to find a spyglass, but the spyglass is in 3 different pieces, and you'll see three different weird looking things on screen... those are the parts of the item that you are looking for. Not very hard to discern after a while.

Additionally there are interesting facts and information about the Titanic and it's sinking before you start every level.

All in all, it's an ok Hidden Object game, with the storyline being the glue that held it together.

Nice twist on the Titanic legacy!

Engaging storyline that takes place simultaneously in the near future (2012) and the past (1912). Interesting characters serve as both suspects in a bomb plot and sources of historical information about the original Titanic. Packed with mini-puzzles (that are replayable outside of the main game), the beautifully illustrated scenes offer an in-depth tour of the luxury cruise ship. The diary entries from the past tie in to the dramatic events in the present aboard the Titanic II, and the suspense mounts as you try to uncover who is the mysterious bomber. Great soundtrack as well--this is the perfect game for folks must have all things Titanic, as well as those who enjoy a more "casual" hidden object search experience, mixed in with a spell-binding mystery. An added bonus are the wallpapers that are unlocked as you complete each scene.

Who is the culprit?

The answer to this question alone made me seriously consider buying this game. But I decided not to because...
Although the graphics are very good, the outside images are too light for me. For HO games, I always have to set the brightness on my computer quite high anyway so it's easier for me to see the objects I am looking for. And in this game the outside images of the game were already just too bright and hurt my eyes.

Also, I would have liked for the mystery object that needs finding for each mini game to be a little more defined. Sometimes I barely saw what object I was looking for.

On the plus side, I got the choice of relaxed or timed mode. I no longer buy games where I can't play the relaxed mode, so that was definitely a plus.

The mini games were varied and fun - some more difficult than others.

On the whole, however, the game didn't really urge me to buy it. I already own many HO games, and it needs to be something special for me to really want to buy the game.
